Hey folks, wanted to get a discussion underway here so we can be prepare for when we meet Wednesday. What I'd like to do is to discuss the pros and cons of observing our lesson in the classrooms that have volunteered, and to give anyone else who has thought about volunteering a chance to speak up.
So far, these folks have volunteered:
Cindy- Bluford, we discussed earth science as a possiblity and one more class which escapes me at the moment.
Amy- Salem, she teaches high school life sciences.
Teresa- Columbia, she teaches middle school, but we haven't had any conversations about what the classes are.
So, if you have volunteered and would like to add information, please do (I'm drawing a blank on some specifics right now). If you have considered and would like to throw your hat in the ring, please do that as well. Otherwise, lets discuss where we should observe, as this needs to be decided asap.

The location doesn't matter to me, and I don't mind travelling early.
I prefer Earth Science, Space Science, Geology, or Environmental Science because I teach that to my 6th Graders. I don't teach any biology to either 5th or 6th Grade.

The location doesn't matter to me either! I will be learning to learn about any subject through this process, but I am more familiar with Earth Science, due to my West Ed training this summer!

Of course, I am game for anything/anywhere. I do like the idea of planning an environmental science lesson because of the integration of all areas of science. We will all be able to contribute our expertise.

All good points. Unfortunately Teresa had to back out due to conflicts with her work duties, so that's one off the list.

I am very flexible, location/topic does not matter to me. I also agree that an environmental lesson does open doors for every branch of science to use. As far as grade level, we can ramp up or down as necessary.
